Anticoagulant/Warfarin

Asthma Clinic

  • Additional InformationFor all patients registered with the Practice with a diagnosis of Asthma.  The GP will advise when you should book a check with our Asthma Nurse.

    Once you have been seen by the Asthma nurse for your initial assessment you will be able to book further Asthma follow-up appointments online if you have been given a username and password by the surgery

Baby Clinic

  • Additional InformationThis clinic is held at our Meriden Surgery and is a drop-in clinic, every 2nd and 4th Monday of the month between 1.30pm and 3.00pm. Please book in at reception when you arrive

    Baby clinics are also held at Balsall Common every Wednesday between 1.00pm and 2.30pm - Please note this is for baby immunisations only - Appointment required

Cervical Smear

  • Additional InformationTo avoid cancer of the neck of the womb, cervical cytology is carried out by doctors and nurses in the practice. An invite letter will be sent to you by the Practice. For females 25 years of age and over

Child Development

  • Additional InformationCertain doctors in the practice provide child health care which includes developmental examinations and childhood immunisations which are given in accordance with Department of Health guidelines.

Chiropody

  • Additional InformationThese appointments are held at Balsall Common Surgery. For general Foot Health needs. Patients are referred by the GP and then contacted by Foot Health to confirm their appointment details.  If an appointment can not be kept our Reception staff will give you a telephone number to re-arrange your appointment direct with Foot Health

Diabetes Clinic

This clinic is for over 16's only

Family Planning Clinic

    Dr Carlile and Dr Nadeem offer a coil-fitting service for gynaecology needs and for contraception. If you wish to know more, please ask reception to make an appointment in person for a discussion.

Flu

  • Additional InformationIn accordance with Department of Health guidelines, we recommend 'flu vaccination for the elderly and patients with chronic heart, lung or kidney disease and diabetes. The vaccination is available from October onwards but always check with the surgery first. We often run Flu clinics on saturday mornings. Our Reception staff will be able to advise on which dates these will take place.

Minor Surgery

  • Additional InformationDr Carlile, Dr Nadeem and Dr Horsley perform minor surgery, obviating the need for you to go to hospital. If a doctor recommends this sort of treatment, arrangements will be made for you to be placed onto a waiting list and then contacted by the surgery regarding your appointment details. Appointments held at Balsall Common surgery only

    As a basic rule - Dr Carlile does clinic on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month and Dr Nadeem does clinics on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month

    Dr Carlile, Dr Nadeem and Dr Horsley all carry out joint injections

Phlebotomy

Maternity Services

  • Additional InformationPatients of the practice are booked for Maternity Services. These clinics are carried out at  Balsall Common surgery.  The midwife will arrange your hospital confinement.  Please contact the surgery once your pregnancy is confirmed and you will be given the contact details of the midwife attached to our surgery.  The midwife will advise you when to book any follow-up appointments. All postnatal checks are carried out by the GP. A letter to advise you of your postnatal check will be sent to you.
